Kaolin is a natural, white clay, and just so happens to be one of Earth's most abundant minerals. It acts as a safe, effective cleaning and polishing agent, which is why it's one of the main ingredients in our toothpaste. 

The Kaolin used in Dentisse originates in the southern regions of the United States. It goes through a purifying process involving a heat treatment. The heat treatment purifies and refines the clay and causes thermal dehydration of the platelet-shaped particles. This allows the surface to function more efficiently in the cleaning and polishing of tooth enamel. Using Kaolin is what makes our toothpaste so different from other commercial toothpaste brands on the market. It's not uncommon to find silica, calcium carbonate, and other abrasive ingredients in many toothpastes leading in the marketplace.
